TWO BRANDS. ONE STANDARD.
Two Brands. One Standard. That's not a tagline — it's the operating principle behind every wheel that leaves our shops.
Industry Nine has been anodizing & machining hubs, spokes, and drive systems in Asheville, NC since 2004. WR1 has been hand-laying carbon rims under one roof in Kamloops, BC since 2017. We acquired WR1 in 2025 because we saw ourselves in them — the same obsession with process, the same refusal to outsource what matters, the same belief that where and how something is made determines what it actually is. This is our RELENTLESS CRAFT.
ASHEVILLE, NC
Born out of a family machine shop in the Blue Ridge, Industry Nine engineers and manufactures every component of its hub and wheel systems in-house — hub shells, axles, spokes, pawls, drive rings, and anodizing. If it moves inside an I9 hub, we made it. The result is a wheel system with no weak links we didn't design, and no failures we can't trace to their root.
KAMLOOPS, BC
WR1 is our carbon rim design program and manufacturer, built from the foundation of We Are One Composites — Canada's pioneer in hand-laid carbon mountain bike rims. Every rim is laid up by a named technician, assigned a serial number, and produced entirely under one roof in Kamloops. No sanding, no filling, no painting over. What comes out of the mold is the product.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR YOUR RIDE?
FASTER PRODUCT EVOLUTION.
When we iterate quickly, it’s not about process speed—it’s about your ride getting better, sooner. Less waiting for “next model year” fixes and more continuous refinement driven by real-world feedback.
The result is equipment that doesn’t stand still while the trails keep changing.
PROVEN CONFIDENCE.
Testing isn’t something we report on—it’s something you feel.
Every decision is pressure-tested in-house and in the same environments you ride. Rock gardens, long descents, bad lines, good days, worse days.
If it survives our testing, it’s already survived what matters most: real riding.
SYSTEMS BUILT TOWARD EACH INDIVIDUAL DISCIPLINE.
Different riding styles don’t need compromises—they need intent.
Each system is built specifically for its category so you’re not carrying crossover assumptions from another discipline. What you get is equipment tuned to your world, not a blanket design adapted.
BUILT AND SHAPED BY RIDERS.
Each product is not only made by but shaped by everyday riders and athletes who ride the same trails you do.
Same climbs. Same descents. Same conditions that shape every decision behind the product and why we make it.
That shared reality shows up in how it’s built, how it performs, and how it makes an impactful difference to the ride.
